Tune-Up
Today's high tech, electronically controlled engines require a new kind of service. The old style "tune-up" involving carburetor adjustment, points and condenser is a thing of the past.
Our questions will also uncover how often these symptoms occur, and when they occur. For example, do the symptoms occur when the engine is cold, or hot? Only on wet days? Your answers to these questions wilt guide your Fast Lane specialist when f/re following tune-up services are being performed:
- Replace spark plugs
- Check:
- All fluid levels, including engine oil and transmission fluid
- All exterior light bulbs
- Condition of belts and hoses
- Condition of exhaust system
- Check and/or test:
- Cooling system: coolant and rad cap
- Air filter, PCV valve, air cleaner filter
- Distributor cap, rotor, ignition wires and coil
- Clean battery terminals and check electrolyte level
Fuel Injectors
Fuel injectors require service only if the injection nozzles are plugged or obstructed. In normal use with today's premium fuels, injectors will seldom require maintenance. If your vehicle's engine is not running smoothly, tell your Fast Lane specialist, who will check the condition of your fuel injectors.
Spark Plugs
Fast Lane installs Motorcraft spark plugs, the only spark plugs designed, engineered and approved by Ford as original equipment on all Ford and Lincoln-Mercury vehicles. That means the latest technology and the highest performance standards. Regular and Platinum Tip spark plugs are available.
